United Brethren Church Parsonage (Rush Powell House) — Vanlue, Ohio by Christopher Riley

Extant at 209 East Main Street in Vanlue, Ohio. Seated in the ornate chair is a youngish Rush Powell, and to his left are daughter Loma and wife Elizabeth. Born in Meigs County, Powell became a minister in the United Brethren Church and pastored various congregations in central and northwestern Ohio, including ones in Ostrander, Vanlue, Van Wert, Findlay, Toledo, and Bowling Green. Loma was born in 1901 and looks about two in this picture, so it was probably taken circa 1903. The United Brethren denomination bought this lot in Vanlue in 1875, but the house itself likely dates from the 1890s.
