Lavender
I have a whole new respect for those who make lavender oil and such for a living. It’s going to take me days to debud all this lavender. I’ve gotten so much of it...I haven’t even filled a baggy yet. x_X
Guess who got diagnosed with panic disorder. The gp said that they'll help with control my anxiety first to see if that helps with my hand picking. He's doubled my meds, seeing if that helps and recommended some counselling to help control my anxiety. Then he'll see if I have dermatillomania.
If you are nervous about going to the GP and get anxious, do you think it would help if you make a short bullet list for yourself with: symptoms, things you want to ask, anything else you think she should know? That way even if you lose your words you can always show her that, and you don't have to worry about forgetting anything.
yeah i’ll do that thank you :)im just panicking that what if i dont have it that bad, or it is just a bad habit after all and im just wasting their time.
Oh I completely understand. I have absolutely terrible anxiety. I've been guilty in the past of backing out of asking about problems because of it. But I've recently been diagnosed with a lot of things since actually trying to talk to doctors (and get second opinions). You should probably mention the eczema as a factor in it all. It may help your case if the bumps make you more stressed and more likely to pick.
i haven’t had the best experience with doctors, so ive always been “ughhh” when i have to go. but recently my new gp as been pretty nice so hopefully it’d go well tomorrow. I’ll keep everyone updated.
yeah i will, it isnt a bad as it used to be, but it still flares up when i get super stressed. yeah i pretty much destroy my hands when it flares up, last year my end finger got pretty bad with eczema and i destroyed it so bad i pretty much tore all the top layer of my skin off and it bled everywhere and took ages to heal as i kept picking at the scabs.
As someone who has had many doctors assume she's a hypochondriac, I agree it's always really scary to ask a doctor if you have something. But I think it's worth it if you can get help for it. If one doctor doesn't believe you, see another. A second or third opinion never hurts. In my case, it's led to diagnosis.
my anxiety takes over sometimes, and i panic way to much. yeah i have a gp appointment tomorrow anyway, so i’ll ask. Ive pretty much fucked up my hands, so i want to stop. it doesn’t help that i have this weird eczema called Dyshidrotic Eczema, where when i get stressed or something, i get these bubbles in the ends of my fingers, which i attack so much i fuck up my hands even more.
