My hand stripping is getting much better! I love working on this Irish Terrier but he can be such an ass sometimes.

Question for you as you seem to be a terrier expert, is stripping required on a wired-haired dog?

If you want to keep the correct wire haired texture to their coat, then yes. But there are plenty of people who either shave, or don’t touch their dogs coat ever (besides brushing them obviously), and that’s fine for pet and even some working terriers. Stripping is a lot of work.

I would love to see commercial groomers offering it, but doing a whole dog in one sitting takes multiple hours and would be very expensive, so I understand why most people don’t.
