When my kid was 4, his father gave him a box of toys that had a pair of them in it. Part of a cops & robbers set I imagine, though it had been opened and dumped in. I put them away but he found them and handcuffed himself to the TV stand one day. I did NOT have keys to them, because why would I?

So ever since sometime in that following year, when I found a stray handcuff key (I have no idea where) I've kept that as my "anti-lose keys" key.

And every time I had to go to court, I would have to explain that story.
