Continuation of the camping thread

The next day Ludwig woke up around 7 am. Which was rather late for him, since he usually woke up at 6am. But hey, he was on vacation with his bestie, who was still sleeping. But today they were gonna go hiking! Ludwig was excited, he had planned out a nice route for them the day before. Nothing too crazy for poor Tim.

He decided to check his phone first before getting up. Tim was still asleep anyway. He took the time to send a few texts to hia girlfriend. Then he just couldn't sit still any longer and decided to start making breakfast.

It’s 4 o’clock and nice weather. Ludwig took his laptop outside together with a beer and some snacks. Time to call his best friend via video calling and catch up while having a beer. The crisis wasn’t gonna stop them from hanging out and enjoying the weather! Thank the lord he had good wifi connection. 

Ludwig loaded up the software and pressed the call button.

Tim: "Ludwig, come over. I've got new miniatures."

...

"I'll be right there!"

As promised he was there as soon as he could. "What did you get??"

In case you can’t read my terrible handwriting: 

1. *sun rays intensifies*  2. TIM: Sun rays?  3. TIM: I must go, the terrace needs me! 4. LUDWIG: But what about work?  5. TIM [in Dutch]: I can do that later, the sun is out NOW! 

I was talking to @neerlandstrots about how the Dutch people just love to got outside whenever there’s sun, even when it’s like 10°C, if there’s sun we will go out and drink a coffee or a beer on that terrace. Dutch people absolutely love it. In winter the terraces even have like a heater so you STILL can sit outside. It’s probably because the Dutch weather is so unpredictable, you gotta make the most of it. And of course Tim is no exception. Ludwig doesn’t understand his obsession.

If there was anyone whom he could ask about what Liesje’s problem was, it would be her father. And said father raised an eyebrow in response to Ludwig’s very unconvincing answer. “Your label is sticking out on the front.” He said dryly, then clicked his tongue.

“I think the hallway upstairs isn’t the best place to explain things, let’s go to my study.” Was he misunderstanding the situation? Most definitely. But he wanted to know what happened before actually making a real judgement.

Well, there was no more use in hiding the fact that he actually did put on the shirt in the wrong way. So he quickly removed his arms from the sleeves, turned the shirt so it was proper again and stuck his arms through the sleeves again. Good enough.

“Wait, but I was just-” He tried to explain but didn’t get the chance since TIm was already walking towards his study. He sighed and just followed him. He’d have to explain later.

Ludwig walked up to Tim with something behind his back. "Happy Birthday, old friend." he grinned. "Or as you say... Gefeliciteerd." he nailed that too. "And since I'm such a good neughbor and friend i got you something." he handed him a small tuperware box with a self made piece of cake in it and an envelope on top of the lid.

It was not always that Ludwig had to visit Tim’s actual house to do some business. But the Dutchman stated, he couldn’t leave the house at the moment, which was fair enough. The German didn’t mind as long as they had a quiet room to talk business. Trade had become thé one important thing in Germany and he had to make sure to keep foreign relations in the positive to let the trade flourish. Who else was better suited than his Dutch neighbor with an already long trading history. 

He rang the doorbell and waited till it was opened. Hopefully the kids didn’t get so intimidated by him this time, but probably not.

Ludwig went to grab the mail from his mailbox and for some reason there were, not one, but two blue envelopes in there with a special logo on them. The Dutch government. Ludwig sighed heavily and to ease his own anxiety he opened the one addressed to him (the other was for Lutz, but TIm probably didn’t have his address). As he suspected there were no tax papers inside, but a birthday invitation. The German grunted. He grabbed his phone, made a picture of the mess, then send it to his best friend with the comment: 

“You need to stop doing this. They’ll catch you at some point.”
