A fusion twist on classic sushi, these sushi burgers combine juicy grilled tuna with creamy avocado and crisp cucumber, all wrapped in nori and sushi rice. They are a delightful handheld treat bursting with flavor.
Ingredients: 4 sushi-grade tuna steaks 4 oz each. 1/2 cup soy sauce. 2 tablespoons rice vinegar. 1 tablespoon honey. 1 teaspoon sesame oil. 4 nori sheets. 2 cups cooked sushi rice. 1 avocado, sliced. 1 cucumber, thinly sliced. Pickled ginger and wasabi, for serving.
Instructions: To make the sauce, mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil in a small bowl. Put the tuna steaks in the mixture and let them sit for 15 minutes. Get a grill or grill pan hot, but not too hot. To get the doneness you want, grill the tuna steaks for one to two minutes on each side. Lay out the nori sheets on a flat surface. Place an equal amount of cooked sushi rice on top of each nori sheet. On top of the rice, put slices of avocado and cucumber. Taco steaks grilled should be put on top of the cucumber and avocado. As sushi burritos, roll the nori sheets up tight. Cut each roll in half or into four equal pieces. You can dip them in extra soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
