The Reverend Alfred Juliano created a stir among pedestrians on West 35th Street on November 12, 1957. He drove his dream car into the Hotel New Yorker on 8th Avenue, to be placed on display until Nov. 18. Apparently, performance gave way to looks in this hand-made vehicle, which Father Juliano named "Aurora." He drove it from his home in New Haven, CT to New York in 9 1/2 hours, normally a two-hour trip. Included were 15 breakdowns and 7 tows.
