well i’m gonna approach this from less of a bdsm angle & more of what kind of role does he play in bed just because. the thing about steve is, he’s not a submissive dude. he refuses to beg, to stay down, to be told what to do – but when he’s with a partner, he’s incredibly passive & submissive. not just in bed, he’s definitely not the “wears the pants” partner.

tbh i think sharon & steve are the best example of this because they subvert their gender roles pretty much all the time. it’s not seen as much in the movies but the potential is definitely there. which i know gender roles are completely arbitrary but in this case, they were put there to serve a narrative purpose but that’s a post for another day.

anyway, steve likes taking orders. he likes to please people. he’s definitely a server. so in that case he’s a sub but he’s also down for whatever his partner wants so he can switch around.

There are few things Cameron likes about NEW YORK; it reminds him too much of HOME, the place he suffered and bled and eventually DIED. But at least he’s heard the stories of the vigilantes in HELL’S KITCHEN.

Mostly he intended to stay out of their WAY. He didn’t much feel like crossing ANY of them, to be honest. He didn’t even plan on COMING to New York; a current target of his had fled Graywater and wound up HERE instead. Maybe he should have left his guy to get eaten alive by Hell’s Kitchen, but Cameron wasn’t much one for letting other people do his dirty work.

He hears steps behind him and in seconds he turns and nocks an arrow. With one fluid motion his bow is raised and drawn. At first he says nothing -- then, feeling a need to explain himself, lowers his bow just slightly. ❝ I’m here for Josiah Burke. Then I’ll be out of your hair. ❞
