The Curious Psychology of Waiting Rooms

Ben hadn't actually intended to end up here. It was clearly a doctor's office of some sort. And it was only the face that the only other person present was absorbed in a magazine that kept his sudden appearance from being remarked upon.

He blinked owlishly, the man looked up and pinned him with a gaze equal parts nerves and judgement. Ben quickly sat down. Vaguely remembering an incident in his high school days involving a legion of frags being let loose on the school, and an explosion in the chemistry classroom that had landed him in the principals office.

Time ticked by and every time he shifted, the man glared at him. Finally the door opened, and a woman exited along with her glaring compatriot, and Ben though he might finally escape. Of course then someone else pinned him.

"Ah..." Well this was awkward.
