breathe me back to life [kol&elena]
He had never intended to stay for this long in Mystic Falls. Just in and out, for old times sake, he had told himself. But then he had found the only possible thing that could make him stay. A human doppelganger.
At first he had thought it was Katerina Petrova posing as a human, but as he stayed to watch, he found out that this person was Elena Gilbert, a human. A human, ready to be found and sacrifised at Nik's altar. He had played with the thought of letting his brother know. But decided against it. He had also thought about just ending her life. But that was not the right way either.
At some point, and after a few talks with some of his trusted witch companions, Kol had decided to stay and to use her against his brother for leverage. After all Nik was still keeping some of his siblings daggered in a coffin. The betrayal of being daggered himself for hundred years still stung and he wanted to make him pay. He wasn't sure if ending his life would satisfy him, but it certainly looked appealing right now.
The only problem was, for that to happen Elena Gilbert had to trust him, the witches had told him that much. No other details though. For what they had in mind, they needed the doppelganger to know and accept their terms.
So now here he was, monday morning on his way to enter the Mystic Falls high school. Compelling himself the same schedule as the doppelganger would certainly make his day easier since he wouldn't feel like he was putting himself through torture by being in high school.
Suppressing a sigh, he approached the class room in which he would have his fist lesson - history. Kol looked out for the brunette to sit next to her. And he found her, deep in conversation with a blonde, and was happy to see that the seat to her right was still empty. Settling on it, he pulled out an empty notebook from his bag and kept his eyes fixed on it, listening to the conversation the two girls had.
