I spotted that too, boo. Though I wasn't sure either that it ultimately - or even preliminarily - matters whether Katniss is just playing or can't help herself. The feelz/intention behind either of those actions seem to be the same, really: that was called for in the situation and that was what needed to be done. So that's what she did. Girl's gotta do...
