James S. Brady, the White House press secretary who was wounded in an assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan and then became a symbol of the fight for gun control, championing tighter regulations from his wheelchair, died on Monday in Alexandria, Va. He was 73.

James Brady died today, but this piece by the NY Times is so disgustingly statist.

James Brady was championed as a hero by politicians because he was one of them. Nothing he did was for the common good. They used him and his personal tragedy for gain and to trample citizens rights.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Brady. I won't miss you.

UM Review: Handguns -‘Life Lessons’

Handguns - Life Lessons Release Date: July 8/2014 Label: Pure Noise Records Reviewed By: December Leanne Handguns second and latest album Life Lessons is something you'll definitely be listening to over the summer. Taylor Eby (vocals), Brandon Pagano (guitar/vocals), Kyle Vaught (guitar/vocals), CJ Wilson (bass), and Ryan Pyle (drums) have put together a pop punk feel good vibe. If you're a fan of Man Overboard, The Wonder Years (whom they've toured with as well) if you don't already, you'll love these guys. The album begins with “Anvil” which doesn't quite set the mood for the album,but luckily it only gets better from there. Going on with “Sleep Deprived” which is more fast paced and you can really get into the pop punk vibe.  “Heart vs Head” the first single off the album is one of my favorites, relate-able lyrics, upbeat guitar riffs, upbeat tempos and catchy chorus. The last half of the album is the best part ;  “Give and Take” starts off a little lighter but keeps you intrigued and flows right into the next song, “Waiting for Your Ghost” this song was my most played off the album, give it one listen and you'll have it stuck in your head. “New Years Revolution”  not about a new years revolution but moving on from a relationship (which everyone can relate to) ends off the album well and ties everything together nicely. For those of you who love your pop punk, you don't want to miss out.
