Oh gods again...
Okay, so people keep calling Hank/Connor “pedophilia” because Hank is 53 and Connor is “only three months old.” But that argument falls apart as soon as you look at what those numbers actually mean.
Connor is not a child. He was built in the body and mind of a grown man in his 30s physically, cognitively, socially. “Three months old” refers only to the time since activation, not to developmental age. He didn’t start life as an infant learning to walk; he was deployed as a fully capable adult operative from day one.
Pedophilia is attraction to children. Grooming is manipulating a child to prepare them for abuse. Neither applies here, because Connor is never a child in the story. He and Hank argue, fight, make choices, and work as equals. Their bond is about two adults (one human, one android) finding common ground and trust despite everything.
So reducing it to “53 vs. 3 months” ignores the actual text and the core of their dynamic. Hank/Connor is not about a parent and a baby, it’s about partners who grow to change each other’s lives.
Also
The “4 months old” thing is uptime, not age. Connor was created as an adult, not as a child who grew up. So comparing it to literal underage dynamics is misleading.
And if the issue is the 23/24 (and I still think Connor was engineered to look like a man in his 30's) vs 53 age gap, then that’s just about whether you personally find large age gaps disturbing. Which is valid as a personal boundary, but it’s not the same thing as calling it pedophilia. Both characters are adults.
