NaNoWriMo ‘17
So I totally forgot NaNoWriMo was a thing until I saw a few posts about it this morning. I don’t know how busy I’ll be in November, but I’m sort of musing over the idea to write a Fake AH Crew fic for NaNoWriMo. I would really push myself to write a full length fic of 100,000 words (or more). This would be a big endevour for me - anyone who knows me understands that I struggle with writing full length fics. I’m good at short drabbles, many of you follow me for those. And I won’t stop writing little things. But I have a lot of worlds based on AH-AUs, like my supernatural AU or my 7 days AU or my Sky Factory AU or my Kings AU or just regular FAHC. And ... I don’t know. I keep saying I want to write a full length fic and I just ... don’t. I come up with excuses and reasons not to sit down and write something and work at it. I figure I’m going to be busy in November. I’m not entering this for any prize, I’m not going to sign up for the website or whatever. So that being said, I’m probably going to start sometime in October. Or sooner. Maybe. I’m going to need help. I’m going to need my friends and followers to nag me about it. I crave feedback on my work. I need people to tell me if they like it or don’t. If you guys want to see a full-length story from me (and I’m going to probably post chapters on Tumblr as well as my AO3), I’m going to need cheerleaders. Not betas, fuck no, this monster isn’t going to be edited for shit until it’s done. But I’ll need people who just want to read along, tell me what they like, that sort of thing. Motivation is key. .... so what do you think? Should I try? Or do you think I’m better off writing short ficlets and leaving the full length to other (much more capable) authors?
