It’s more laughing than smiling, but still. Hannah had walked in on me with my camera poorly proped on a pile of books and boxes and stuff and she just watched me run back and forth trying to take some new self portraits and this was my reaction after being scared shitless and then called out for being a lazy professional.

17) things you said when you were scared

“They’re not going to understand, Hannah” He said pacing from one side to the other of the room, groaning and running his fingers through his hair profusely.

“It’s your life, Eric, they don’t need to understand, they just need to accept it.“

“Then they’re not going to accept it.“

“You should give yourself a little credit. You’re good at it, I think you can actually make a career out of it, make money, be happy. They have to see too how miserable you are at their events, they can’t possibly prefer you to run the family’s business. Anyone who knows you knows that’s not life for you.“

“They’re not gonna pay it. You know dad, he’s not-“ Hannah groaned, rushing to hand and grabbing him by the face, one hand on each cheek.

“I love you, but I will murder you if you don’t stop freaking out and go write your application, Eric. It’s due Friday and it needs to be perfect.“

Wolf took a deep breath, nodding. “When did you became the wise one?”

“Oh, I’m sorry, you thought you were the wise one?“

There you have it, the last picture I took from my family: Hannah and Willy. Now that I stop to think about it, they still haven’t met... I should probably arrange that soon.
