Hannah is now 4 months old! She is now 15lb and 25in long! It’s hard to believe that she now can roll over and is sleeping almost all night now. As I reflect on this first Christmas as a mommy, I can’t help but think of my own childhood and remember the Christmases of my past. I remember the excitement of seeing all the presents under the tree and reading the story of Jesus birth from Luke chapter 2. I don’t remember every present but I remember playing with my dad and brother and then heading to Grandma Davis’s for lunch. Those very traditions are what we tried to do for Hannah. I pray that she remembers the love and joy of the season, that it’s not the gifts that matter but the people. I pray that she gets excited as much as I still do to hear the story of Christ’s birth. I am beyond thankful for my little Hannah Fern and I pray that next Christmas she will actually get to spend lunch with her great great Grandma Fern Davis and continue the traditions of my childhood.
