A Series Of Unfortunate Events -- Number 10 Alternative RP with HannahIsNerdy/HannahIsSpooky
Violet, Klaus, and Sunny sat in a chair in Mr. Poe's office. As Mr. Poe sorted through his papers, the three siblings sat closely together, happy to be together again. Mr. Poe had assumed that Count Olaf was caught, and although, I'm sorry to say, that assumption was wrong, it had atleast calmed the three down, even if they knew that a jar of mustard would keep them safer than Mr. Poe could.
Mr. Poe picked up a call. "Hello, Mr. Poe speaking. Yes! Yes. No, yes. Yes. Okay, goodbye!" And ended a call, then coughed into a handkerchief. One thing you could count on was that Mr. Poe was always coughing. Another thing you could count on was that Mr. Poe was probably about to send the Baudelaires to a dangerous place again. You couldn't count on the fact that they would once more be sent to somewhere like 667 Dark Avenue, because they wouldn't. He assumed that he may have found them a home.
"Kids, I found you a new home." Mr. Poe said, coughing into the handkerchief and turning to face the three. "Or, atleast, I assume I found you a home." Mr. Poe looked uncertain- a word here which means "looked like things probably wouldn't work out for Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire." He sighed and stood up. "I'm uncertain. You may not get a home, you might."
"What do you mean, Mr. Poe?" Violet asked, as politely as possible. "Khazik?" Sunny said, which meant something along the lines of "Yes, what do you mean?" You see, Sunny is a baby, only about as big as a loaf of bread, which is the normal size of a baby. Since Sunny is a baby, sometimes things she says are hard for people to understand. Most of the time, Violet will translate for her so that people understand.
"He means that he is not certain. He doesn't know whether or not, and he thinks we probably won't." Klaus spoke up to Violet, giving her the definition of 'Uncertain' and he was correct. Klaus is the second oldest Baudelaire. He's also one who reads quite a lot, reading any books possible, and having a higher lexile score than the highest lexile scoring kid in your class.
"Oh, I see. We can still try, right, Mr. Poe?" Violet inquired, waiting for Mr. Poe to reply. Violet Baudelaire is the oldest Baudelaire, and she's thirteen. She likes to make inventions, making inventions usually when she has her hair tied up to keep it out of her eyes. She probably has a higher invention building skill than the highest invention building skilled kid in your class.
Mr. Poe coughed once more his nasty cough into his handkerchief, waited about a moment, and spoke up again. "Yes, Baudelaires, I guess we can still try. You will be on a bus today at 4:30 PM sharp, and that's final. I have so much work to do since I am in charge at the moment, so I can't come with you. Sorry in advance." By 'Sorry in advance' Mr.Poe really meant, "I'm sorry I can't come and see who will be the new person to adopt you or ride on the bus with you to keep you safe from Count Olaf's associates."
It was 4:20 PM at the moment, and the three Baudelaires looked around, trying to find something to do. Violet closed her eyes and tried to think of her uncertain new home and if it had an inventing studio, while Klaus thought about if his new home would have good books to read, and Sunny thought of her new home and wondered if it would have sturdy things to bite.
Then, before they knew it, Mr. Poe gave them three suitcases. "It's 4:25, the bus will be here in five minutes, I want you three to stand outside the bank and the bus will pick you up from there. Okay?" He quickly asked. "Yes, Mr. Poe." Violet quietly said, and then the three dismissed themselves out of the door and waited for the bus with their packed suitcases that had the few clothes they owned in the suitcases.
Before long, the bus arrived and the three Baudelaires sat down on the bus seat, Violet and Klaus sitting together with Sunny on Violets lap, because babies are certainly too tiny to ride on a bus seat without slipping off. They watched as the bus took off, they watched the scenery as they were driving. Klaus read the advertisements on boards and shop signs while Sunny took a nap and Violet thought of experiments to stop Count Olaf's associates if they showed up at this possible new home.
The bus stopped, and the bus driver ordered them to get off because it was their stop. Klaus picked a sleeping Sunny up and Violet go up out of her seat to let Klaus and Sunny out. Violet took the three suitcases and got off the bus first, then Klaus with Sunny followed. Sunny opened her eyes. "Papik?" She asked, which really meant, "We're here already? I just began napping."
Violet told her, "It's not long from here, Sunny, don't worry. And this place isn't dark like 667 Dark Avenue and isn't glum like Lucky Smells Lumbermill, so maybe it will be better for us here." All three Baudelaires were very happy now, to know they wouldn't be living in a shack, or a lumbermill with a crazy hypnotist, or one of Count Olaf's evil associates. As they walked down the sidewalk, they stopped to a door, and knocked as politely as possible.
