A Dinner

Will sat at the table, carefully poking his food

Hannibal raised his eyebrow “Will, didn’t your father tell you not to play with your food?”

Will gave him a disgruntled look “You know he also told me not to murder and eat people so I don’t think this is where he would draw the line.”

“Fine, then I’m telling you, don’t play with your food. It’s disrespectful” Hannibal carefully cut off a piece of meat.

“You know I’m not the only one that has practiced cannibalism. Not savoring the meat is a further form of disrespect, and I’m sure that your father definitely told you to respect your elders.”

“I’m surprised you’re willing to eat older meat.”

“Oh I quite enjoy mutton actually. It all comes down to preparation.”

“I mean this in the nicest way possible but your fascination with butchering may be actually worse than the murders.”

“I’m just making sure that the animals are treated with the ultimate dignity. A butcher should not be inhumane.”

“Okay, just that statement itself makes me unhappy.”
