the reason there’s no hannibal christmas special is because it would literally be too gay. we, as a fandom, could not handle it. for example:

hannibal and will are shown sitting across from each other, in front of a crackling fire. hannibal leans forward, a small box in his hands. “i had this engraved for you when i was in europe,” he hands the box to will, who opens it. inside is a simple silver ring. “now seemed like the proper time to give it to you.” will has to squint and hold it towards the light of the fire to read the engraving. he laughs and slides it onto his ring finger, smiling. a quick pan to hannibal’s face tells the audience he had hoped will would put it there but wasn’t sure it would happen. neither of them mention it out-loud. although will is shown reading the engraving, it is kept between the two of them. a few seconds pass and will leans forward as well, pulling a simply wrapped package out of his pocket. he hands it to hannibal. “it’s not from europe and it’s not engraved, but it’s something.” hannibal opens it slowly and carefully. inside is an elaborate dagger, with delicate designs starting at the handle and snaking their way down the blade. it’s obviously very old. “i also got you a magic bullet blender,” will interrupts the silence that had started to grow. hannibal, who had been staring at his gift, looks up at will, his eyes full of love and probably tears. “it’s in the kitchen. i couldn’t fit it in my pocket.” hannibal takes will’s hands and kisses them gently, stopping for a moment before he kisses the ring, too.
