I've been thinking about an AU where Damien doesn't meet William again after William stopped showing up. In return Damien doesn't live at the palace and doesn't develop feelings for William. So with all these events lining up it results in Angela and Hans manipulation working (or at least a bit of it, ex. hating humans but understanding some are good people.) on all the children, Dani, Dorian, and Damien. With this, I expect the children to be sheltered so they don't understand what's really going on outside their home. In this AU Dani and Dorian don't play Hooky and they make it to the school. Following that, this means Monica still has a disdain for witches and defends her fathers actions. William in this AU is more ruthless because he has been personally attacked by witches, and without Damien there to show him how good witches are, he also has a huge disdain for them too. Fast forward a bit, Damien ends up being king of witches, this time not to help his friends, but to hurt them. Yet, behind the scenes, he's against all the bloodshed but can't do anything about it because his parents are behind all of it. Now, this AU can go three different ways. One, William finally defeats Damien and sentences Damien to death, by burning or beheading. This results in a long grief for William or him feeling greedy/happy with his outcome as a "hero". Second, Angela and Hans defeat William and Monica so they sentence them both to death, while they force Damien to watch because he's the one who "caused" this. Lastly, the happy ending, when William catches Damien but, because of high empathy and grief, he saves Damien and lets him stay at the palace so they can come to some kind of agreement or treaty.
