are there melanistic and albino hantheer? are they super rare? is there any cultural or spiritual significance? are there any colors/markings for hantheer that are regarded as special in some way, like it means they're blessed or lucky or marked by evil?

There are albino Hantheer and they are fairly rare. We don’t generally hold them or any particular markings to a certain higher standard culturally, though some mortals find it more attractive.

Hantheer are created equally under the eyes of the Speaker, so promoting or demoting any individual for a feature they cannot control would not be right.

do harts have natural predators? with that rapid growth rate and long life there's gotta be something taking them out. you don't have a lot of babies that fast unless most babies don't make it to adulthood, or something is eating the adults fast enough to manage the population

There are...creatures in Fahla’surni, but I have never been far enough from the haven of our city to see them. I’ve only heard rumors, things that move in the mists, things that can teleport as quickly as the harts. I’m afraid I don’t know more. For my own safety and my training, I was not permitted anywhere where these things might live.

hantheer can choose to have tails? it's optional?

With cosmetic magics, most things are optional. I suppose a tail would be a small enough thing to add on in such a manner.

I sketched some really dramatic Hantheer palette swaps ~ I don’t think their colorscripts are this harsh canonically but I had fun tinkering with the palettes regardless.

do hantheer pets also get second part ' names? if hantheer even have pets. do all harts get the 'thian ending or do harts have many ending optons

Heh, to be honest I haven’t thought of the endings for pets much but yes, they would have endings as well, not just ‘thian. I imagine names for pets and harts would have to do with their personality and/or parts of nature from some old Hantheer language that I have not yet created. We’ll say ‘thian means something like noble, with works for Killy and Veri’thian pretty well.

But Hantheer do have pets. Mostly they have really big dogs like what we’d call German Shepherds, sled dog breeds, and St. Bernards (although I love the image of a 8 ft tall Hantheer with a chihuahua), partially because they have herds that need bigger dogs and partially because mountains/steppe climate, so big floofs do well. While I imagine there are cats in Fahla’surni from previous World Walkers bringing them over, it’s not as common because house cats aren’t entirely practical and when you have limited livestock to import, you pick the ones that will be most helpful. If there are, they’re those super floof ones from Scandinavia, I can’t remember the name, because again, it can get kinda cold.

Do harts ever aesthetically match their bonded hantheer, or is it random? For example do albino harts bond to albino hantheer, or do they have similar spotted markings to their riders' freckles, etc??

Aesthetically, they can. I mean, that comes down to personal preference with character design. Kan’sa and Kil’thian are pretty close to each other, but Brai’sa and Veri’thian are a dark/light contrast.

So, kinda just preference. They can match, but they don’t have to. It’s not a “pet looks like the owner” requirement.
