It was a very memorable day, but not for a good reason. Today was the day that Peko finally got in over her head in a fight.
Honestly, it'd come out of nowhere. She'd been waiting for Kuzuryuu to come out of the school, since he'd given her express orders not to come find him after the school day was over, when suddenly there were men surrounding her. She, of course, fought to her limits, but when her weapon had been taken from her, she had less of a chance of getting out of this.
Why did they come after her, a twelve year old girl, anyways? She could only assume they meant to get to the Kuzuryuus by kidnapping her, but the joke was on them. They would just get another bodyguard for her young master and be done with it.
She was hit over the head and blacked out.
When she came to, she was lying in a bed, much more comfortable than the one she had at the Kuzuryuu's home, and her young master was sitting in a chair beside it, cuts and bruises peppering his face and arm in a sling. She was about to ask where she was, until she realized that she was definitely not wherever those men were going to take her, and she was shocked into silence.
"Next time you're 'bout to get yourself kidnapped, at least call me so you're not unconscious when I get there." He glanced at the door, seemingly waiting for something.
She was silent for a moment, then, "Why... am I here...?"
He raised his eyebrows, an amused expression on his face. "What, no 'thank you'? I saved your life, Peko," another glance at the door. "though my parents ain't pleased. They were pissed beyond hell, I tell ya."
Colour flooded Peko's face as she stammered out an apology. Her young master shrugged it off, as she expected. In the recent past, he'd begun to become more self-reliant and rebellious, and didn't like it when his parents fussed over him and gave Peko orders to stand by his side for everything. He was probably glad to have a bit of the action, to be the hero.
The door opened, and he took it as his cue to leave. "Well, time's up." He stood up and made his way around the side of the bed leisurely, his free arm tucked in his pocket. After a short mental struggle, Peko called after him and he stopped at the door, looking over his shoulder.
"T-thank you, young master...!"
He let out a soft chuckle. Despite the comment he'd made that rung in her ears, his only response was, "Stop calling me that," before he left.
