Hey Canadian friends, I’d really like to encourage you all to follow allthecanadianpolitics. I’ve never been able to get interested in politics or current events, but it’s been very helpful for me to have Canadian issues interspersed in my Tumblr dash so I can keep up with what’s going on here, in a way that’s actually interesting to me.

Non-Canadians should check it out, too, just because global awareness is cool, but it’s probably more important for my Canadian followers.

Be aware that the individual who runs the blog is biased towards his own political affiliations, but he’s very transparent about it so it’s probably enough to just be aware, and to make sure you’re thinking critically about the information presented.

And remember, if you’re of age, don’t forget to vote in the October federal election!

I’m just gonna publish this in case anyone else was curious.  Hope that’s okay.

I’m afraid it’s not actually an interesting story.  Last summer I worked on a boat, and I had a ton of fun talking with this one guy who also worked on the bridge with me.  We were both from the same general area, too, which was a plus (most of the crew were international workers, we got brought in because they were legally required to have a certain percentage of Canadian crew).  I sort of had a little crush going on until I learned that he was twice my age and that killed it pretty fast, but I really liked talking to him, so when we got back to shore I very awkwardly asked him if he’d like to continue hanging out sometimes while he was in the city.  A few days later we went out for supper together and ended up sort of monopolizing a booth for like four hours.  It was super fun, honestly, I had a great time.  But I thought we were hanging out as friends until he paid for the entire meal and then I realized and it was just like “oh no.”

Especially because I had bought a giant pizza, expecting to pay for it myself, so I could have leftovers to take home for later.  So I was both oblivious AND accidentally an asshole.  It was super embarrassing.

So that’s the story of the one time I’ve ever been on a date.

So if it hasn’t been obvious, I’m going to be posting pretty much exclusively SASO fills for the summer.  The advantage to this is that I’ll be posting more frequently, and it’ll be with a wider variety of ships and fandoms.  The disadvantages are there’s less exclusive T2 (always a shame), the fics I post are probably going to be generally shorter and of lesser quality than my usual work, and that anything else I was working on has had to take a backburner, including the next installment of PokePedals and various prompted fics.  Those will get done, eventually, but not for a while.

Still!  I’m having a heck of a good time with SASO and I hope you’re enjoying the variety.  Keep an eye out for fun stuff to come, including a particularly juicy (in my oh-so-unbiased opinion) Hunger Games AU fic.

Guys the first SASO bonus round is so much fun!  I’m having a great time with this.  Though it could use more Yowapeda prompts tbh (especially maybe an IbiMiya one for no specific reason) but wow I’m just so excited that this is a thing.  

And for anyone who cares, I’ve come up with a few goofy short fics that will probably end up on AO3 after a few rounds of quick edits so look out for those if you’re interested.
