🙂 What makes you happy? 🙂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of the books I’m currently listening to is “The Happiness Advantage” by Shawn Achor. I shared the quote, because in my case it is very true. If it was not for my family’s support, my life would not be sustainable as is. I’m eternally grateful that they give me the means to strive after my potential, because working on my own art and stories does make me happy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I will pass final judgment on this book when I’m through listening to it, but I would like to share with you the seven things Achor recommends doing to Kickstart Happiness In Your Own Life: (I’m sure the author will not mind.) Meditate for at least 5 minutes every day. Just sit still and focus on your breathing and if your mind wanders (like mine usually does) bring it back to breathing. Find something to look forward to. Put a reward on your calendar, or at the end of a task. When you need to, refer to that reward to come. Commit conscious acts of kindness. 5/Day, but make sure you’re deliberately being kind, not as an afterthought, or it will not work. Infuse positivity into your surroundings. Breath in fresh air. Avoid TV, esp. the news, dramas, violence... Exercise. He said there is a study that proved exercise is as effective as treating depressions as pills, but has fewer relapses than people on medication. 😮 Spend money, but not on stuff. Ex. Outings with friends or on other people. Exercise your strong skill, or a signature character strength. Like the author, I feel happy when I’m learning something. Just watching one of the video tutorials makes me feel good. Whatever you are good at, make sure you practice it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ . . . #milifayart #happinessadvantage #howtobehappy #quoteoftheday✏️ #artistslife https://www.instagram.com/p/CIWBAAbjRMv/?igshid=120rqf3q9yno
