Buildings often change with the culture around them, and the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club is no exception.
As St. Petersburg grows and attracts more people, transformations like that are bound to happen. Last weekend, the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club held a local rock show in one of their meeting halls.
Gracing the first show were St Petersburg band Happiness Machine, a band whose music often harkened back to bubble gum melodies with a hint of Brooklyn indie flair.
Ghost Hospital’s music played out as if Ben Gibbard sang in a surf punk band. Unfortunately, the microphone was acting up during their set, making it difficult to hear the vocals.
Bringing the night to a close were the Sons of Hippies, a psychedelic punk band from Sarasota that has been playing the Bay Area since 2009.
