Today is not a bad day. Started with receiving a gift from taokan (In the name of the wind! A book I’ve wanted to read and had on audio but never quite got the chance to hear all 77 hours in a sensible fashion. Now I don’t have to!) The gift came with a letter that made me cry. In a good way.
I was able to pick up cute shoes that I’ve been paintstakingly lay-bying for over two months. I know they look kind of ordinary on the website, but they’re the dressiest shoes I’ve been able to wear in a while, and they mean I won’t have to go to my friend’s wedding in May in runners. They’re too flat for safe everyday wear for me, but...bluuuuuuue.
I am wearing an eye-searingly red shirt.
Did I mention taokan wrote to me?
I also can’t stop thinking of Dr. Chakwas and Zaeed Massani after revisting this favourite ship with codenamecynic
I finally get to play that goddamned overpriced DLC, which means breaking out Ista again, since she’s the only one levelled up enough to handle astonishingly overpowered fade rifts.
A writing lecturer I’ve always been rather scared of gave me feedback on the Enna story and said: You are writing with the imagination and sensual acuity of Jeanette Winterson when she's on fire.
And I am flustered.
also - fave reoccurring joke is everyone on Moya fucking up Crichton's human lingo and habits.
Farscape is still one of the best cold opens to a sci-fi ever for me. The usual 15 minutes with idiots is basically skirted in favor of jumping straight into space fights, aliens, and cool weirdness. The character designs are fucking badass and the character themselves are complex and interesting. Everyone is a person and it's a series they actually managed to wrap even after cancellation with the Peacekeeper Wars mini-series. So satisfying from start to finish.
*stretches* I'm actually really starting to feel a lot better. I'm still sore and stuff, but compared to how I felt this time last week things are pretty dang awesome. Everything just seems to be going right now. Yeah,I'm sick of being laid up and I'm still really bummed out about my car, but everyone has just been so kind and supportive and it's looking like everything is going to turn out okay. A lot of really good things did come out of this. I haven't felt this happy or peaceful in a long, long time.
