Bees at the entrance of our new hive fanning and releasing a Nasonov pheromone. The fanning honeybees are exposing their Nasonov's gland - at the tip of their abdomens - releasing pheromone to entice stragglers into entrance of the hive. While checking our main hives for mites we found a virgin queen. Interesting one of the hives had a mite load of 1% while the other - the one with the two queens - was 7% and had to be treated with Formica acid.
