Let’s not turn this into a pedi argument.
"On the wall behind the desk was a portrait, of Zac Efron. Zac Elfron."
Hey, thanks for the response. I understand your point completely, especially where you're coming from. Modern mass media does a terrible job at presenting material without bias; nearly every popular outlet has a leaning. I'm not talking about the media though. I'm talking about the people who do commit such atrocities, and I'm saying that there's obviously something deeply wrong with ANYONE - no matter what race or background - who plots to take lives for their own personal gain. Thanks!
Hello friend,
Thank you for clarifying. I am still a bit unsure, though, about what you mean when you say there is something deeply wrong with such a person. Obviously there is, there is something deep and dark within them that goes against what we see (or at least hope) is human nature. But does that “something” necessarily have to be mental illness? Can it just be that their life experiences, the way they grew up, the hatred they were exposed to, the weapons they were provided, and perhaps even the ignorance of those close to the person who might have helped stop them, contributed to such a terrible event? I think there is something /wrong/ with someone who can commit such crimes, but I am hesitant to say that that “wrongness” is necessarily an illness.
I’m glad that we are able to have a constructive discussion on this!
