Hello, lovely people! Before I head into my weekend, just wanted to share my slow progress with you! . This pattern I seemed to flow nicely in the beginning, and then turned out to be really tricky (I’m still not sure whether I need to tweak it even more)! Of you scroll through you’ll see the very beginning (with the cream outline), which didn’t work at all in the repeat, so I had to recolour all the individual snail elements, separating shells from bodies — a painfully slow procedure, which revealed all the small inaccuracies in the sketching phase! . Anyway, I got to a point where I can see where it might be going, and leave this pattern for the sake of tackling another! . I’d love to hear your opinion on the contrast, especially the outlines: Is there enough contrast, or maybe even too much? What’s your immediate response to the use of colour and texture? Should I add another layer of background texture, or does the whole repeat get too busy then? . Thanks for your thoughts! S is for #snail. This piece was brought to us in small part by #inktober #inktober2017 but in large part by @artbykasi who sent me all kinds of fun art toys for my birthday! Today I did some playing around with #arteza #watercolorbrushpen! Sadly the paper in my Inktober book isn't hearty enough water (I tried to make a pretty sea slug on another page... it didn't end well) so I didn't utilize that part of the pens. But I love the colors and the feel of the pens and am psyched to experiment with them more. #snailart #happysnail #snailbuddy
