Hi! I’m really into vinyl and I want to buy my own record player. I saw that you owned a Crosley, could you please tell me if it’s worth buying or not? How is the sound? I read some reviews on the Internet and the opinions are mixed, so I’d like to have your opinion as well! Lovely blog by the way and I’m happy to see that you’re as much into Pink Floyd as I am! What’s your favourite album?
Hi!! Sorry for my late response, sometimes I don’t get notifications that someone sent me an ask
I love my Crosley! I think the best thing about it is that it’s cheap and it plays really decent sound out of the speakers and into headphones (if you’re so inclined to sit right by it and blast music into your ears. You hear a lot more of the pops and scratches that way which I personally love).
My boyfriend’s brother has one of those floating record players and I know they’re much more expensive and the sound is supposedly better, but I haven’t personally listened to a record on it. Crosley’s are much more portable and can close the lid which is also important to me because I hate getting dust on the turn table and that really protects it.
So, I think ultimately it depends on how much money you want to spend and perhaps what kind of aesthetic you’re going for and obviously the sound quality but I think Crosley’s are more than fine!
YAY!!! Another Pink Floyd fan! I haven’t thought about them in ages, but Dark Side of the Moon is definitely my favorite album (followed by Wish You Were Here). I love that era of the band, and the whole experience of the album is just *chefs kiss*. What’s your favorite album?
