My little page of notes and sketches of which ships I absolutely must touch tomorrow.

The sketches were added after the fact, and while I definitely need more practice, I actually really like drawing ships in this kind of stick figure style.

I’m so so so psyched y’all!

Hotel is booked, and the Bear and I will leave here as early as possible Friday, because a fuckton of tall ships will be sailing into the harbor by noon.

Ever since I started the my fic reboot, I wanted to understand rigging and how it works. That research gave way to scouring the library for anything on the topic, and now I’m literally going to be able to put my hands on these gorgeous ladies and see it all up close.

And even better? The Bear, who never expressed any interest in ships before this year, when I told him about wanting to go to the event, his face lit up. When I said it was a 3+ hour drive? Didn’t care. When I told him about maybe leaving driving super early to see the fleet come in? “LETS DO ITTTT”

I would have gone alone, but I’m so happy to have my clever little partner in crime to bring along.
