The right way to pronounce “gif”

Jokes on you, there is no right way!

You can pronounce it like “gift basket” or you can pronounce it like “gin and tonic,” it literally doesn’t matter, you’re only wrong if you insist other people are wrong.

“But the G stands for Graphic, hur dur dur”

LASER: Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation (Do you call it a lass-ear?)

SCUBA: Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (How does scuh-bah sound to you? Huh?)

Gif or Jif, I don’t care and neither should you.  Let’s be emotionally distant dads about this and say that they’re both wrong; share the blame, even though one is obviously superior than the other

I’m OK with people pronouncing GIF as “JIF”...I mean they are wrong, unbelievably wrong, monstrously wrong, unequivocally wrong, a wrongness as intense as a thousand thousand suns, a wrongness that will last as long as it takes to reach the heat death of the universe...but I am OK with them doing that.

Just realized that the "Giles" in Wade-Giles is pronounced like the normal english name and not whatever i've been reading as my whole life.
