Hardcandy blurbs
So if you don't know.... I am obSESSED with hardcandy (Jeff Hardy and Candice Michelle) so... have some things :)
Candice was halfway through curling her hair when the dressing room door flew open.
Jeff stumbled inside carrying two coffees...
...and a skateboard.
"...Why do you have a skateboard?" she asked.
"I found it."
"You found it?"
"It didn't have an owner."
Candice slowly lowered the curling iron.
"Jeff."
"...Borrowed it?"
She sighed.
"You absolutely did not borrow it."
Jeff grinned sheepishly before setting the coffees down.
"Peace offering?"
She accepted one anyway.
"You're lucky you're cute."
"That's what Matt keeps telling me."
----------------------------------------
Getting ready together was always an adventure.
Candice's side of the room looked like a luxury beauty store.
Makeup brushes lined up perfectly.
Perfumes arranged by height.
Hair products neatly organized.
Jeff's side...
A hoodie.
Face paint.
Three necklaces tangled together.
A single boot.
Nobody knew where the other one was.
Including Jeff.
----------------
"Babe?"
"Hm?"
"Have you seen my boot?"
Candice didn't even look up from applying mascara.
"No."
"...You sure?"
"Jeff."
"...Yeah?"
"I have watched you check the same bag four times."
He blinked.
"...I thought maybe it'd appear."
She burst into laughter.
-------------------------
Before every show, Candice fixed Jeff's hair.
"Hold still."
"I am."
"No, you're moving."
"I'm breathing."
"Breathe less."
"I don't think that's medically recommended."
She gently smoothed a strand away from his face.
"There."
Jeff looked in the mirror.
"...You make me look respectable."
--------------------------------------
"I perform miracles."
After her matches...
Jeff was always waiting backstage.
Flowers?
No.
Chocolate?
Sometimes.
An ice pack?
Always.
"You got hit pretty hard."
"I noticed."
He carefully held the ice pack against her shoulder.
"You okay?"
Candice smiled.
"I am now."
------------
After Jeff's matches...
Candice looked him over like a disappointed mother.
"...How."
Jeff blinked innocently.
"How what?"
"How are your fishnet sleeves ripped?"
"I climbed something."
"There was nothing to climb."
"There is if you believe."
She pinched the bridge of her nose.
"I'm dating chaos."
Jeff smiled proudly.
"You sure are."
-----------------
One day they were invited to a fancy charity gala.
Everyone wore elegant dresses and tuxedos.
Candice looked breathtaking.
Jeff actually wore a suit.
Everyone was shocked.
Even Jeff.
"I feel weird."
"You look handsome."
"I miss cargo pants."
She laughed, taking his hand.
"You'll survive."
"...Barely."
Halfway through the night someone found Jeff outside...
Teaching two wrestlers how to do skateboard tricks in a tuxedo.
Candice walked out just in time to watch him nearly fall into a decorative fountain.
"...Jeff."
"I'm okay!"
"You almost weren't."
"But I looked cool."
"You absolutely did not."
She helped straighten his crooked tie.
"...Come on."
He smiled.
"Thanks for rescuing me."
"It's practically a full-time job."
"I appreciate your service."
She rolled her eyes, unable to stop smiling.
"You drive me absolutely insane."
Jeff leaned down to kiss her forehead.
"...Yeah."
"But you still love me."
Candice intertwined their fingers.
"Unfortunately for me..."
A tiny grin spread across her face.
"...I really, really do."
Jeff beamed.
"Worth it."
"...Don't push your luck."
"No promises."
