Finally got chapter 2 of Hardcore Beans up. It's gunna be a coffee-shop soul/core mates fic, though the boys haven't properly met yet.

Got chapter 2 of Hardcore Beans done! Sent it to my beta reader and then I get to post it. I can't wait.

My goal is updates every couple weeks. This is closer to 3, but it's still close!

I kind of want to share the (VERY rough) outline of my current fic and I'm stuck oscillating between "Notes will give me motivation to keep writing" and the ADHD curse of "If I tell others about it I will immediately lose interest in the entire project. "

"Hardcore Beans" fic summary ~ Dead on Main Soul Core-mates coffee shop/Mechanic shop AU. Halfa Jason.

Danny feels like there's a hole in his life. And after a bad reveal to his parents, there's also a hole in him! He flees to Gotham because something in his core is tugging him in that direction. A draw he can't avoid. He tries to fill the void in his life by repairing random things he finds. After running across a wonderfully complicated repair of an espresso machine, Danny decides to open a coffee shop. The grand opening brings lots of business. Even a cute guy that he's just drawn to. Jason has felt incomplete ever since his resurrection. He thought it was Joker still being alive. He thought it was was the divide between him and his family but things are getting better. He even started backing out of crime-lording and opened a legitimate mechanic shop! But there's still a hole. A longing. And it's gotten stronger. But also this cute guy just opened a coffee shop next door. Turns out he lives in the apartment next to Jason, right above their respective shops. Is this what his heart has been looking for? Is Jason finally living his best romance novel main character dreams!

Once in a while impossible things happen. Less than once in a lifetime, two impossible things happen at the same time and the universe ties them together. Danny standing in the opening gateway of two worlds, core forming instantly in a moment of unbound potential, was the first impossible thing. 

Jason returning from beyond, waking in his own grave, a revenant fueled halfa was the second impossible thing.

While people like to dream of soulmates, it’s not really a thing that happens. It’s impossible. Danny and Jason impossibly share a core. The same core, split in two and giving both of them life. Giving both of them a longing they don’t understand.
