Antony, Olympian extraordinaire, and basically Layla’s brother, was someone that made Layla smile just when she saw the sight of him. Sometimes it was a little embarrassing, especially when she organized a ‘Let’s Cheer for Antony’ party and she nearly teared up watching him compete, but usually, Layla was proud of it. Antony had done amazing things for Layla in the past and she was always trying to repay the favour by being his personal cheerleader.

Tonight, however, Antony didn’t really need a personal cheerleader. They were at a Society party/function/auction and Layla decided that what Antony needed was a little more fun. Once Layla was standing beside Antony, she wrapped an arm around his waist in a half hug and whispered, “In need of more fun. Boring conversation with other members. Will you please be my lifeline?”

tea or coffee? how do they take it? tea, come on now. she’s british, not a heathen. she drinks it with little enough milk that it doesn’t look like what she’d call ‘piss-water’ ( the fellow brits know what she means, when it’s barely tea at all ) and enough sugar to taste it but not so much that she might as well just be gulping caramel. does that make sense?

is she an early riser or a late sleeper? a late sleeper, but that’s often because she goes to bed as the sun rises. big mood, amber. however, she also can just be incredibly lazy. it’s the benefits of being rich enough to never have to do a real job.

what’s the longest time she’s stayed awake for? eight days. she decided it’d be fun to try and see what happened to the russian sleep experiment people, and enlisted a couple of her friends to help. eventually, though, they just all hit the floor.

a random fact about her. she can play one song on the violin, and it doesn’t even really make sense that she doesn’t know how to play anything else. it’s just... amber, okay? it’s ‘fairytale’ by alexander rybak.

have they ever gotten seriously ill?

none publicly known about, but yes. largely dealt with privately, if anyone knew about it at all, covered with insistence of being completely okay and lapses in communication. which isn’t exactly uncommon of leah, but most people ignored it. it’s white house chatter that it’s always something to do with overwork or exhaustion, but thus far no one has ever told. no one quite made the connection between the worst episode and its proximity to the death of her mother, candace. ( or what it really was. )

her mother chose her middle name, artemisia. after artemisia, queen of caria. it was to teach her that she could be whatever she wanted to be in the world. she’s never realised that doesn’t mean adhering to her father’s insane vision, but at least she’s a woman in power.
