random cyberia fact #1

harmonia prismatica was originally named "harmonia prismaria" for a more melodic sound befitting a region revolving around music. this was changed rather quickly due to my growing distaste for regions ending in "-ia" out of fear of them all sounding too similar. however there is something to be said about names having a consist feel which made me feel more comfortable with my current naming conventions while still making an effort to branch out and try more daring names. i LOVED "harmonia" but the "prismaria" bit still wasn't sitting right with me though. i felt like i was almost there.

then i came up with "prismatica" which instantly clicked with me. i still got the melodic sound from "harmonia" but "prismatica" gave the name the much needed kick to give it that edge. it had this sharpness to it that i really liked that aligned with the gemstone theme. this also reflects the nature of harmonia prismatica, being beautiful but deadly. this also the case for the two main themes being music (harmonia) and gemstones (prismatica.)

the angel network 🖥️🪽: the shards are connected via hive mind and can communicate with each other telepathically.

shard of heaven 💫: similar to princess sakura’s “divine lineage” ability, all of the shards have enhanced resilience, exceptional stamina, invulnerability to black magic, and an immense amount of raw magical ability. however some of the shards are more powerful than others. murasaki’s vorpal sword ability is impressive, but can be overshadowed by some of her flashier sisters.

one of the two shards discovered by kurogane industries meant to protect svartálfheim from harm. unlike folta, she was to be deployed discreetly and handle missions such as assassinations. wishing to lead a normal life, she ran away from the government facility. a mysterious young girl, murasaki is known for her captivating violet eyes and enigmatic smile. did she find what she was looking for? can she really live an honest life?

zetsubou offered murasaki a place to stay once he found out she was homeless and the two became friends. zetsubou was murasaki’s first friend but he wasn’t content to keep it that way. he kept on pushing her past her comfort zone, insisting she must’ve felt something for him too. unsure of what romantic love really was and not wanting to lose her first friend, she agreed to enter a romantic relationship with him.

she didn’t want to be an assassin or a holy weapon. murasaki just wanted to live a normal life like any other girl and she was more than happy to keep lying to him in order to feel that way. she didn’t understand exactly why their “love” felt so empty. however, shortly after falling pregnant, she told him that she couldn’t keep lying to him anymore.

she did care about him and wanted to be fair to him by being honest. she told him about the pregnancy and before she could say anything else he immediately started gushing over the idea of having children with her and starting a family. he started insisting they get married, to which she refused. she told zetsubou that she couldn’t love him.

feeling bad about having broken his heart upon seeing his crestfallen face, she felt a certain twinge of guilt and sadness. she was able to see herself in him. someone who was also desperately trying to find something to make them feel whole, because of that she didn’t really feel as though zetsubou really “loved” her.

as the two parted ways, she told him to look to the heavens for answers. once he’d found god and still decided that she was what he needed, she’d believe that he loved her. murasaki had inadvertently sealed her own fate as well as the fate of the rest of her sisters, driving him to religious psychosis. when the two meet again after the world government tracked her down, she is quickly shot and eaten by zetsubou in front of her new lover, kin.
