映画／ハーモニー・コリン『ガンモ』

DVD借りて観た。

『ガンモ』（原題：Gummo）は、1997年公開のアメリカ映画。

題名のGummoとは米国で有名であった喜劇俳優、ガンモ・マルクスに由来するものとされている。舞台となるのはオハイオ州のジィーニャという小さな田舎町。数年前の竜巻による混乱で町は疲弊しており、その中で生きる人々の暮らしを、猫を肉屋に売って小遣いを稼ぐ少年と、その友達の青年の二人の行動を主軸として描く作品。

結論から言うと私には合わなかった。。。

育った時代や文化があまりにも違い過ぎるからか全く共感できないし、ドキュメンタリー映画として観てもちょっと表現がいかがなものかと思う。

ハーモニー・コリンが監督の映画は他にも『スプリング・ブレイカーズ』を最近観たけどそれもダメだった。スケートカルチャーに精通している人達には熱烈な支持があるみたいだけどこの映画を観て改めてこの人の世界観は今の自分では理解できないとわかった。

Spring Breakers was the best movie of 2013. Of course, I still haven't seen a bunch of the big hits of this year; but I did just see Inside Llewyn Davis and oh boy was that a big ehh-fest. SPRING BREAK 4 EVA!
