okay, I definitely didn't see this one coming!

So at the start of Harper's story, she doesn't have a best friend and never has! This is a small scene in her first chapter

“Do you?” he asked. “Do I?” “Have a best friend?” “Oh… Not really…  the closest I have is Archie, and he’s my cousin… and I only see him once or twice a year.  Back in New York I was so focused on theatre that I didn’t really have time to just hang out, and I guess a lot of people thought that made me a bitch.  I was friends with all of my casts, but… No best friend.”

later on, her best friends come to include Fangs & Sweet Pea (her boyfriends), Jughead (her step-brother), Archie (her cousin), and Toni (her only friend she's not related to or dating)
