Getting herself back to normal life had, in theory, not been as hard as she had remembered. Probably because she’d only been back on the pills for three weeks before Ryder threw her pills in the toilet and monitored her close enough that the shame kept her on track. Her guilt kept her on track. At least enough to make it through the worst of it, with Ryder by her side when he could. That, paired with new meetings buddy and coincidentally the same one that helped her fall off the wagon together, well, she was on a new path. Or the same one, just years later. To keep herself busy and to keep her mind off the thought of her dead best friend or the fact that she wasted three years of sobriety, she’s been doing a fuck ton of non-stop moving. Work, working out, eating, sleeping… it was just everything to keep the distraction going. At least until she could deal with it, slowly but surely. Today was no different, she found herself with some time off, so she decided treating herself to lunch at Calliope would be the next best thing. Sitting by herself, menu open and phone scrolling through her Instagram feed. Looking up at the waitress, her eye is caught by Harper, someone she knows fairly well through Rowan, admittedly. “Hey baby, haven’t seen you in a while,” she comments, basically ignoring the waitress who was waiting to take her order.
