Not to be a Harringroverson shipper but the idea of Steve losing first Billy and then Eddie to the Upside Down, but then having both his almost-boyfriends back alive after they defeat Vecna, and now having to deal with the fact that he loves them both and cannot choose. Steve decides to pick up guitar. It's just something fun to do to fill his hours between work and sleep now that he's graduated. He's not expecting to be good or trying to be a rock star or anything.

So it's kinda annoying actually the way he keeps bumping into Hargrove and Munson everywhere, and they keep getting on his case about it. First it's disbelief, like there are rules against Steve sharing an interest of theirs - which is bullshit, especially from Billy who has as much claim to the instrument as Steve does - and then it's all these pointers he didn't ask for. Music history and albums it's apparently a crime if he doesn't know. Finger placements and tracks he should be trying to learn instead of the popular shit.

They keep inviting themselves over for "rock god" lessons Steve never asked for. He calls them play dates just to annoy them. But it's sorta fun, if Steve is honest and he is learning a lot about the guitar. Before he knows it Steve's garage is pretty much never empty. Eddie brings his band mates for jam sessions, and it's not unusual for him to come home from his shift to find Billy tinkering with his equipment while the music blasts. Steve starts calling him his personal roady, and Billy claims that he's management. Soon as Steve gets good enough he's going to take him on the road and exploit him until they're old, fat, and rich.

There's a little tension at first when Eddie and Billy start running into each other in the garage, but once everyone relaxes and realizes that things really are chill, they fall into a rhythm. A good rhythm. He's surprised at how well they all get on actually, and how much they're able to help each other. Billy Hargrove and Eddie Munson joining his very short list of best friends wasn't on his bingo card, but Steve is very happy it did. It takes him forever to build up the courage to admit to them that he thinks he might be attracted to men and wants to explore that. Although he's literally shaking in his boots, they're supportive and they don't judge him. If anything they get closer, because he never would have guessed they weren't completely straight either; and they both take his 'edu-gay-tion' very seriously. They teach him queer code and show him around the safe clubs they know, and joke about being his gurus.

Neither Billy nor Eddie are really surprised when Steve suggests they form a band after a little too much to drink one night. It makes sense. Eddie's band mates have started to move onto other things and Billy has been itching to hit the road and head west for ages.

For the first time, Steve is really and truly happy, and when he looks towards the future it isn't blank. He can see the three of them, living and working together. They work together.

The real issue is not the two Alphas being possessive over Steve and fighting over him. Sure, at first it's a huge mess and they all struggle to deal with the situation, especially Billy, but eventually they come to term with it. Steve imprinted on both, loves both, wants both... and there's nothing they can do to change that. It would not be fair to force him to choose, for Steve as much for the one eventually left out.

But still... the two of them bonding with the same Omega? Maybe if one of them was a Beta it would be less weird. It's not even the poly thing, at this point, it's the fact that there are two Alphas involved. Would it mean Eddie and Billy too should mate each other?

Enter Eddie, who's oddly chill about the whole thing. The perks of being queer! Yeah, Eddie likes Alphas too... actually, he doesn't care about genders and secondary genders at all, so he just wouldn't mind to mate with an Alpha if he'd fancy them. And oh boy if he fancies Billy Hargrove!

As for Billy, well, he needs some time to tackle the issue and overcome his internalized homophobia, but turns out he's a closeted queer too. And with a penchant for dorky metalheads Alphas, apparently.

So in the end Steve doesn't have to wrestle them into like each other. And the one left burdened with doubts and fears is just him.

Billy and Steve are out on a date and end up at the Hideout, were - I shit you not - Corroded Coffin are playing. They never saw any of their concerts, but they kind of know them since they are the only metal band in Hawkins.

The music is good and Billy is enjoying it as much as his beer and the warm presence of Steve on his lap. What's weird is, his boyfriend hasn't already made any remarks about how loud and annoying the music is. On the contrary, he's quite calm and focused, listening intently to the band.

Then Billy takes a glance at him and... immediately clocks it. Steve is down for the frontman, practically ogling from afar this metalhead Eddie guy. And Billy can very much see why: big brown eyes and wild hair and the cutest dimples when he smiles. Not to mention how those ringed fingers are moving on the strings...

Hell, Billy goes straight to him at the end of the play and starts to unashamedly flirt. Behind him, Steve is so embarrassed and keeps trying to stop him, excusing his behaviour. Like Eddie wasn't already plainly bewitched by this apparently mismatched pair. Isn't that Steve 'the King' Harrington, ex highschool jock? What is he doing with Hargrove? Weren't they rivals or something? Well, they must have worked out their problems, he guesses - and in the best way! Billy doesn't seems to be the asshole he used to be back then, even if he's still sporting the whole 'bad guy' air - which suits him damn well, if you asks Eddie.

"You're giving Grease vibes." he says to them, smitten as ever.

Steve frowns: "Grease?"

"Yeah, you know..." Eddie strums the refrain of 'You're the One That I Want'.

Billy cocks a smirk at him.

"Are you comparing me to Travolta, sweetie?" he drawls.

Eddie grins and starts actually playing the song. The whole band follows his impromptu and Billy grabs at Steve's hand, makes him swirl.

"Does this mean I'm Olivia Newton-Jones?" he shouts at Eddie while Billy keeps making him dance.

"You sure are pretty like her, princess." he shouts back to him, and then winks at Billy.

Steve is blushing, a jittery laugh shaking him while he keeps dancing. Damn, he's cute!

Seems like the night has just started for the three of them.
