All the bad things in Season 2 happen to Harrow

Episode 2 I totally thought he was going to get poisoned, like all the things in the title sequence were going to be someone trying to kill Harrow (iirc). What if the car was more of a close call, exploded right before he gets in but he was running late, so he’s lucky, or set to explode/catch fire when he opened the door/pulled the handle. (maybe in episode 2 a teeeeeny amount of fentanyl gets put into his drink— just enough to make him pass out or really notice the effects or something— to connect to Fern being framed) Simon actually waits for Harrow, and Harrow manages to stop Chester by intercepting the injection with himself, but Chester shoves him over and Simon dives after him, allowing Chester to get away. Idk maybe more. Also essentially Chester instead just really wants to kill Harrow without being found out and has blackmailed and bribed a bunch of patsies

Fanfic Idea #78

Simon and Dass do things earlier/quicker and Simon goes to find Harrow at QIFM only to walk in on what’s his face (Tom) trying to stab him.

I KNOW IT WAS A PUBLIC HOLIDAY AND THAT’S WHY NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE, BUT WHEN I WAS WATCHING IT, I WAS JUST WAITING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO BARGE IN THERE, SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING, AND TACKLE TOM OFF OF HARROW (OR, SINCE I’M ALWAYS DOWN FOR HURT/COMFORT—MAYBE SOMEONE BUSTING IN SERVED AS A DISTRACTION, AND HARROW GOT STABBED?))

Tom might have escaped death once today, but it wasn’t going to last if Harrow couldn’t get him help soon. And the only way to do that was to get to his phone outside the door Tom himself had rather effectively and efficiently rendered inoperable. And the optimal way to deal with that obstacle would be the fire extinguisher lying on the ground. 

As soon as Tom had turned his back, Harrow ran for the fire extinguisher before he even had time to think. But, as Tom whirled around with the knife glinting in his hand, sharp edge swiftly approaching, the pathologist realized that perhaps the fire extinguisher was, in fact, not the optimal solution to his current dilemma. 

Harrow threw himself back, but not quick enough, as he felt the sting of the knife cutting through his scrubs and into his shoulder. Crying out, Harrow lost his balance and fell onto the blood spattered floor, and quickly found himself struggling against Tom, the knife hovering only inches (centimeters??) above his neck.

Tom began accusing him of siding with Dr. whathisface out of some sort of ill intentioned loyalty rather than simply coming to the same conclusions through scientific deduction (??), leaning hard into Harrow, whose arms were shaking trying to keep the knife from— 

Then, the door opened.

First, Tom and Harrow both froze, then Tom whipped around, ready to face the possible threat to his revenge. But Tom was injured, and had lost a lot of blood, so, instead of turning around and rising to his feet, the man lifted his weight from Harrow’s arms and losing his balance, came crashing back down onto Harrow. Not expecting the weight to disappear and reappear, Harrow wasn’t quite able to stop the knife from sinking partway into his chest.

Feeling the knife suddenly tearing through skin and muscle, burning with pain as it went, Harrow cried out again as a surge of strength allowed him to halt the knife’s progress. Breathing hard with exertion, barely aware of what was going on around him through the haze of pain, he distantly registered the sound of glass shattering. Soon the pressure of the body on top of him was gone and so was the knife in another wave of agony.

No longer struggling to hold up his aggressor, Harrow brought his right hand up to cover the wound, finding a warm liquid swiftly flowing from the torn skin, joining the growing dampness collecting in his shirt.

Without the knife being jostled in the wound anymore, Harrow was able to come back to himself to find Simon hovering over him.

That's how far I got, I outlined it though, but this was sooooo long ago lol

Simon comes in 

Harrow and Tom hear the door, Tom whips around, taking pressure off Harrow, loses his balance and falls back onto Harrow, who, not expecting the sudden lack of weight and then reapplied pressure, barely manages to stop the knife fully plunging into his chest (Ends up more shoulder/collar bone area (Close enough to sternum to avoid nerve cords and subclavian what-nots)) (It gets in about 2 inches, or whatever the metric equivalent is, since its australia (The answer is: 5 cm)

Simon is reasonably confused at finding Harrow confronting what at first glance seems to be a reanimated corpse, but quickly breaks open the door and manages to get Tom off of Harrow, but this causes the compound (I think) break to become worse and the whole screaming thing

Simon curses under his breath (not so much) when, as he’s attempting to assess the knife wound with the knife still sticking out of his bosses chest, Tom starts to seize instead of scream

Harrow tells Simon to stop worrying over him and focus on Tom, to which Simon replies with something along the lines of “I’m sorry for focusing on making sure you were ok first rather than the man who was just trying to murder you!”

Then, while Simon is trying to resuscitate Tom, Harrow manages to haul himself up and limp over to his phone and calls triple zero or whatever

Simon either gives him a look or tells him to sit down, to which Harrow replies that he got stabbed in the shoulder, not the leg

Ambulance arrives, Harrow probably passes out, as I assume a stab wound of 2 inches would probably bleed alot

After seeing Harrow help a man who just tried to murder him, Simon realizes that if Harrow really did murder Quinn he must have had a reason, at the very least its worth keeping him from getting caught for now until he can get the full story, so Simon goes and does the thing, and if he’s wrong he’ll deal with the consequences of aiding and abetting when he confesses what he did to the police 

When Harrow wakes up (Somewhere in here he listens to his messages) expecting to be handcuffed to the hospital bed or something, but instead finds Simon waiting for him who he asks what is going on, and Simon says something about getting him a chance to explain himself, Harrow says they should discuss it in a more private area, so Simon drives him home and Harrow tells him what happened

Bonus: Harrow gets shot after he tells Simon and when he wakes up Maxine says something about On the upside, since you couldn’t move for so long, your stab wound has nearly healed without incident for once. Harrow is somewhat offended

All that’s popping up is The Dragon Prince… I’ll google it, maybe it's on some obscure site or something! Nope. But, there is a Quotev result, they’ve got fanfiction! But it's all Broadchurch and more Dragon Prince, but if you exclude them, they’re still like the only results… Tumblr, Tumblr will totally have some! All there is is a post someone made saying they were thinking about writing some but wanting prompts… with no follow up… Am I going to have to write my own? But I can’t write mysteries! Sadness…]
