HAPPY PASSOVER/ EASTER WEEKEND TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE!
Warning: none really. dad Harry.
"C'mon. She's gonna look so cute," Harry said, picking up your daughter and walking to the car.
This was her first time meeting the Easter Bunny. She was born during the pandemic, so you weren't able to bring her out to meet him until today.
Rosie was dressed in a cute light pink dress with chicks on it, white shoes, with with lacey socks, and a cute headband.
She looked adorable. You all got into the car and drove to the mall. It didn't take long to get there, but finding a place to park was a bitch.
It was the weekend before Easter and apparently, everyone had the same idea.
Your two year old was clung to Harry. They were two peas in a pod and joined at the hip. You guys finally found the line for the Easter Bunny and got in it.
"I hope she's going to be ok," you said, fluffing out her dress.
"She'll be fine," Harry assured you. "She's our little angel."
"Yeah," you signed, tuning back to face front in line.
The line took about 30 minutes and even you were getting antsy. You got up to the front, paid the nice lady working the pictures and filled out your info to send to pictures to.
You sat her on the Bunny's lap and she started to whine. You both stood next to her and the Bunny as the cameraman got behind the camera.
All of a sudden, Rosie burst into tears, shaking and screaming. She was terrified of the big, live bunny, something she's never seen before.
"Oh, honey. It's ok," you told her.
"Yeah. Smile pretty for the camera," Harry said, taking her hand.
It was no use. She screamed so loud, the entire mall turned to look at her. You smiled nervously and apologized to everyone around you.
You picked her up and tried to calm her down. "Shh. Shh. It's ok, honey. It's ok."
"I'm sorry," Harry said to the guy in the bunny costume and the workers. They all shrugged like they were used to it. "Maybe we should take her home."
You nodded and walked out of the mall, putting her back into the car and driving home.
She cried the whole way home and even when you put her to bed.
The rest of the day, Rosie was whiney and wouldn't settle down. You finally all got into bed and just as soon as you closed your eyes, your door sprung open.
You felt someone climbing up on your bed and opened your eyes. "Can't sweep," she pouted.
"C'mere angel," Harry said. "Lay between us. It's alright."
She settled in and clung to Harry. After a few minutes, her breath fell even and she finally fell asleep.
You and Harry sighed happily and smiled at each other.
You whispered. "Guess we won't be taking her to see the Easter Bunny anymore."
"Guess not," Harry frowned.
"Well, have to see how she acts for Santa," you said.
"She'll be older by then," he whispered. "If she knows she's getting gifts, she'll cooperate.
You laughed and shook your head. "Probably. Just like her daddy."
Harry chuckled and gave you a peck and then kissed Rosie on the head.
You all fell asleep and prepared for a happy Easter!

WARNINGS: competitive Harry, dad Harry. I think that's it
Your baby was just about 10 months and was slowly starting to walk, with yours and Harry's help.
It was her first Easter and you and Harry were so excited. She was dressed in an adorable onesies that had a bunny on it and little white sneakers.
When you arrived at the house, everyone greeted you guys and fawned over Emma. Her cousins were a bit older than her, so she didn't have too many people to play with but that's ok because you loved having her by your side.
After settling in for a little bit and eating some chips and dip, Anne informed you that there would be an Easter Egg hunt for all the kids and she wanted Emma to participate.
"I don't know how much she'll be able to find mom, but we'll try," you chuckled. "Thank you."
Anne nodded and went to give the grandkids their baskets. You smiled at Harry and he took Emma on his lap.
"I'll help her," he said, bouncing her on his leg. "We'll have fun. Won't we, bug?"
Emma babbled and laughed on his lap. You handed Harry her small basket. "Just take your time, H. Remember she's still not too steady on her feet."
We know, mummy. We'll be careful," he picked up and joined the rest of the kids doing the egg hunt.
Anne explained the rules and how many eggs everyone gets and where they can't go. You watched from the sidelines as everyone went into the yard.
Harry let Emma down, and held her hands as she tried to walk. He held the basket in his right hand as well. "Come on, bug. Let's go find your eggs."
Emma was walking slowly because she was new to all of this and Harry's nieces and nephews were running past quickly.
As most people's baskets were full, Emma's only had one in it. Just as Emma made it halfway across the lawn, and Harry found her second egg, he got impatient.
It's no secret that Harry is competitive. He saw everyone getting done. As much as he loved his daughter and wanted her to learn to walk, he also wanted to win. Even though there wasn't really anything to "win."
So, Harry picked her up and started to run around the yard. He found an egg in a tree that the little kids couldn't reach and put it in her basket, which she was now holding.
"Ohhhh. There's one behind the shed. Let's go, bug," he ran there with Emma in his arms and came face to face with one of his nephews. They both looked at each other and then the egg and back again.
They both lunged for it, but ultimately, Harry's arms were longer and he grabbed the egg first. "Ha!"
His nephew looked a little hurt, but he went on to find more eggs. Harry filled up Emma's basket with the allotted amount of eggs that Anne said.
He knew there was a special egg every year filled with $10. And no one had found it yet. Harry looked over at you. You had your arms folded and were shaking your head.
Harry shrugged, waved, and continued to run around the yard. "If I was the special egg, where would I be?" He looked around the yard and tapped his chin.
Judging by egg hunts in the past, this egg would be somewhere harder to find, but not super hard.
Emma was grabbing onto Harry's shirt, eager to get into her candy. "Do you know where it is, bug? Hmm?"
She babbled along, not knowing what Harry was saying.
Just as Harry had an idea of where it might be, one of his nieces yelled that she found it. Harry stomped his foot and ran to meet up with everyone else in the front of the yard.
The kids were looking through their baskets. Harry ran to you and handed Emma to you. "We almost had it. So close."
You chuckled. "Harry. It's not a competition. Literally. It's Emma's first Easter. Can we tone it down a bit?"
"Sorry, m'love," he kissed your forehead. "I just got excited. Haven't done an egg hunt in ages."
"I know, H. But you literally stole an egg from Benji," you pointed to his nephew.
"Sorry. I'll apologize to him. But we had fun. Didn't we bug?" Harry asked.
Emma clapped her hands and you sat on the ground with her to open her eggs. Harry sat down with you and hugged his family on your daughter's first Easter.
Anne came over and asked how everything was going.
"Mum. I'm sorry for that back there. Yeh know I get competitive," Harry said.
"It's fine, Harry," Anne patted him on the back and then went to check on the others.
"Happy Easter m'loves," Harry kissed Emma and then you.
"Happy Easter, H."
Everyone went back inside to eat dinner and had a very fun time and a happy Easter.
Easter has become a holiday with multiple meanings. In early April, birds are chirping, flowers are starting to pop up from the ground and trees are getting green buds. The world, in short, is coming alive again after a long and cold winter. Happy (H)Easter everyone!
