The Female Animal (1958) | Dir. Harry Keller
Hedy Lamarr with her co-star George Nader (left) and director Harry Keller (right) during production of the Universal-International drama The Female Animal in 1957 (the film was released the following year). This movie marked Hedy's final screen appearance at the age of 43 after embarking on a career as an actress in her native Austria in 1930. Though she later made a few television appearances and a botched attempt at a film comeback, Lamarr retired from public life in 1981 and moved to Florida where she passed away at the age of 85 in 2000.
