i'm american and when i first got my drivers license we weren't allowed to drive past 11 so that was just my curfew but my parents were really strict about it and others didnt care? it kinda depends where you live and stuff
i had completely forgotten that you can get your license at 16! here we cant drive till we're 18... tbh i think id be pretty strict if my 16 yr old were driving too. curfew makes a little more sense to me now :)
