Starter for @harvesthare!
Cold. It was colder here than he had expected it would be. Not that he was expecting anything else. With his fur, thick and shaggy as it is, it is manageable, at the very least.
Excelsius has ventured out of the Weald, leaving it to his partner for now, in search of a certain creature who had been talked about more recently. It supposedly had the visage of a creature with a crown on its head. Perhaps royalty of some kind? Well, that was what he was planning on finding out, at least.
Still... What kind of a king made lands such as these his own? There were scarcely people around, other than trainers scuttling about to catch Pokemon... As far as he could tell, just from arriving at a small town, this was the only one around. Though... there were signs of other towns out beyond, but they had become crumbled ruins, with only faint signs of fields for crops.

🍒 : how much does my muse value companionship? do they constantly keep people around them, or do they prefer to be alone often? do they have or desire to have many friends? do they see every meeting as an opportunity to make a new friend? (also asked by @floralcalavera )
Serena is the sort that values companionship quite a lot, but prefers to be on her own most of the time. Being alone with her thoughts is something that she enjoys, as well as being able to do something at her own pace, rather than feeling pressured to accommodate someone else. That being said, she is actually quite happy to spend time with someone that she trusts or is dear to her, and prefers it to be just between the two of them. The reasoning behind this is nothing deep-- Serena is, deep down, very shy, and just feels as though the more people there are in a group, the less likely they both are to act genuinely. It also, from her own experience, has paved the way to give the other person an opportunity to talk about things that are bothering them in a setting where the one they are venting their frustrations to has their entire focus on no-one else. And something like that is important to Serena.
Still, she does not desire to have many friends. At any given time, those Serena deems as such are very low in number, but are people she would lay down her life for without hesitation. Pursuing people is not something on her mind, but if someone new just so happens to pop into her life, and they get along well? Serena would be more than happy to keep that relationship going. After all, if Calem and his group taught her anything, it is that forced friendships are miserable.
🍓 : how is my muse typically seen by others? does it ring true to who they really are? does their reputation matter to them? (also asked by @harvesthare )
Serena’s image after the events of X largely depend on the region. In Kalos, she has been pinned as being an overly kind, gentle and caring individual-- traits that, while Serena does exhibit, have been blown up to ridiculous proportions by the media. In that region, she is the hero who stopped Team Flare on her lonesome and is in possession of Xerneas. It did not take much for journalists, businesses and the public alike to run a little too far with the idea, especially when it made it so much easier to paint Lysandre in a monstrous light. Putting her in that box, with that sort of reputation, gave the media endless stream of articles or stories to write, gave rival corporations to Lysandre Labs a means to try and trod it into the ground, and normal individuals something to gossip about. While their perception of her is, at its core, based on the truth, Serena more or less represents an unreachable ideal there, and one that can be used in different ways by different kinds of people.
Outside of Kalos, the focus is less on her deeds, and instead more on her status as champion, or her career as ballerina. If a region values battling more than any sort of artform, the former will be more prevalent with her name. If they value the arts or exceling in specific fields, then the focus would be more on her dancing. Sinnoh is a case where the latter has more emphasis placed on it, as classical ballet is one of many disciplines that the region has long held a lot of pride in-- namely for its grace and the ridiculous amount of work and discipline needed to be successful. Once again, both views are based on the truth, and at times can be blown way out of proportion.
In all cases though, the reputation does matter to Serena, and she tries her best to uphold them even if it stresses her out occasionally or means inadvertently bringing harm to herself. Does she like the way they view her in Kalos? No, but Serena does understand why it is important to keep up appearances, and it does provide her with enough influence to make a change in an area she believes in. The focus on her title? No, but she sees it as a way to express gratitude towards her pokemon, and everything they have done for her. Admittedly, however, she does like the reputation tied to her dancing-- the praise, after so much work, is nice to hear, and acts a motivator.

"Calyrex, eh?"
A talking Pokemon who still thinks it's the 1500s, eh? She swears that she always finds the weird ones...
"What, don't know what a Pokedex is?"
HONESTLY WITH ALL THE THINGS HE’S SEEN, he probably shouldn’t be in such awe at the sight of such a creature. There’s no denying it -- it had an uncanny resemblance to the town’s statue, the KING OF BOUNTIFUL HARVESTS -- What luck does he have coming across it here, when he’s out studying another ULTRA BEAST ANOMALY of all things? “ --- You’ve gotta be KIDDING ME ... ” // @harvesthare

🍎 : how stable is my muse’s mental health? have they been diagnosed with any mental illnesses and / or conditions? do they have any undiagnosed mental illnesses and / or conditions? do they or should they attend therapy?
Serena should absolutely be attending therapy. The only reason she does not is due to the fact that she believes that while they might be able to help with emotional aspect, and the resurfacing of memories tied to Team Flare, there are aspects that they just will not be able to, like night terrors. It is the fear of feeling as though they will deem her unfixable-- which would not happen-- that prevents her from seeking therapy. It would take a lot of convincing from friends, family or her s/o (if applicable) for her to consider the idea and not be too afraid to go through with it.
Because of this, she has not been diagnosed with any mental illnesses or conditions after X. The only diagnosis she obtained was through the International Police via a mandatory check-up, and that was clinical depression. Serena does however have others that manifested or were worsened due to the instances with Team Flare. Namely, she has undiagnosed PTSD, panic disorder and night terror disorder.
That being said, her mental state is usually stable, however she does have a lot of days where Serena just does not fare well, no matter how hard she tries.
🍑 : how meticulously does my muse look after their physical appearance? do they spend a lot of time on their hair, makeup, grooming, and clothing? is there a particular reason why they do or don’t?
Serena is very meticulous when it comes to looking after her appearance, as it is essentially part of her job, right down to her figure. She has a daily hair-care routine that, while it is not lengthy, is somewhat complicated. Her showers are lukewarm, with her hair being conditioned daily and shampooed once a week with products made from the berries she collects or harvests. Serena also treats her hair with oils both at the start of the day and just prior to plopping her hair in a cotton wrap or shirt at night.
Skin care is a little more relaxed, with her main rule being that she tries to not let any harsh detergents come into contact with her skin. Moisturiser is used by her if she is not going to be immediately training or dancing afterwards, as she sweats a lot during both activities. That being said, she does carry wipes to remove dirt that accumulates on her skin during them, or normal everyday life.
For clothing, Serena is fortunate enough to be in a situation where she can afford well-made clothing, and so her wardrobe solely consists of that-- namely, in an equivalent style to retro or 1950s fashion. In regards to her body, Serena makes sure to set aside time to stretch or rehearse for at least two hours a day-- one if her company’s season is over-- in order to maintain her strength, flexibility and overall look.
