Clean Restart {Gemma & Harvey}
@harvey--newell
Getting her own room together had been fairly easy. Gemma had taken most of her important belongings with her when she had walked out and moved in with Aaron (dang, that seemed so long ago now) and though it seemed Karen had never bothered to pack up her daughter’s room in the intervening time, a couple hours of dusting and easily picking through what she still wanted (which was little) and what she was going to pack away and get rid of (which was a lot) and the room felt a bit more like home to her. Not much, but...enough that she felt she could stay here.
The rest of the house, however...that was going to be a lot.
Every day she looked around and struggled with the overwhelming sense of how much she had to do. Emotionally, she wasn’t sure how she was going to handle it, even if it had been a driving force behind her coming back to begin with. And physically, well...there was just a lot of it to do.
At least she didn’t have to do it alone. That was something that had been surprising her. She had felt so alone in this town when she had last been here. But the support she seemed to get now...well, it was relieving.
By the time she actually texted Harvey, she had already been at work for a couple hours. Truthfully, there had been a part of her that had been debating even accepting his offer. But when she looked around at how many rooms she had yet to even touch...who was she to be turning away help?
>>Hey. It’s Gemma. >>You still think spending an afternoon helping me clean is a good use of time?
