fluff 5: "whenever i kiss your cheek, your face gets so red."
It was 2am. That Kind of Love by MAX was playing on the radio. Kenzi was half-asleep on Harlow’s bed. Harlow was laying beside her.
“All I want is you,” Harlow sung under her breath, voice deep like a shadow, “no makeup or perfume.”
She traced Kenzi’s cheeks, playing dot-to-dot with the freckles she found there.
Kenzi stirred gently beneath her blanket.
“Don’t need to live forever, growin’ old with you’s much better,” Harlow continued. Her voice was soft against the silence. She let her fingers brush through Kenzi’s hair.
“Give me the things you can’t explain, electricity in your veins. Call me insane, drive me insane...”
Harlow poked Kenzi’s side.
Kenzi opened a single eye and glared.
“You drive me more insane,” Kenzi insisted. She was too tired to deliver the fatal blow she was going after. That just made it all the more endearing.
“Whatever you say, princess.”
She leaned over to kiss Kenzi’s cheek. And then again. And then again.
Kenzi muffled a yawn with her hand and glared.
“Whenever I kiss your cheeks, your face gets so red,” Harlow announced with the pride of having won something valuable and a massive grin.
Kenzi covered her face and groaned.
“You drive me the insanest,” she mumbled. Her voice lacked conviction but Harlow knew she probably meant it, largely because it was probably true.
“You love me,” Harlow shrugged. She turned the radio down and cuddled closer.
