iterations on the Red Tyrant.
Hashtur with some hastarii….
hashtur finds some australium while on a mining expedition and ends up having a craving for meat and chest hair in the shape of australia for the rest of the trip
i think that Hashtur can and does get sick, but it almost always presents itself as a high grade fever, taking him out of commission for a time (perhaps requiring the ferrosurgeon if dangerous enough). I think he can reach higher temperatures than a baseline/unaugmented human without expiring, but it still doesn’t feel great when your firewalls are practically setting you on fire..
while Hashtur treats the skitarii** under his command considerably well, for most of his units he does not expect to have any one unit stay with him for long. this is in part because when he needs skitarii he usually makes a request to the secutor or dominus present at his location (assuming there is one) to have said units assist him in a task, more or less "borrowing" them for a time before returning them to their regularly assigned units, recompensing any units fallen in battle witha share of the resources he has extracted from his excursions.
another part is that he usually only makes a request for skitarii if he calculates the task as dangerous enough to warrant having them, and otherwise with safer* menial tasks he can manage operating on his own.
its only really if the unit spesifically pledges themself/selves to him he considers the potential of making them a longer term member of his retinue, and even so he might prefer the unit stay at their current location performing regular operations as to have an ally he can call on if and/or when he returns there. if they are unwaveringly determined to accompany him, they must accept that there will be times where he does not need assistance, and may loan them out into the service of other requesting tech priests as needed; if thats not something the unit can accept then they are not fit for service.
*safer does not mean totally risk free. for example he may need to do matinence in an area with hive gang activity, or retreive resources across no mans land in an active warzone. reasons for not taking units include assessing that he can handle any threats on his own, or that the mission requires upmost stealth and taking excessive units compromises mission integrity.
**all of this may also apply to subordinate tech priests, where applicable
thinking that Hashtur would have electropreists flock to him more often than not, but the thing is that i dont know what electropreists do or how they conduct themselves outside of a combat environment
tag search stays losing
despite writing Hashtur as fairly aminable, i definitely don't think he gets along with everyone. i think hes able to hold up a cordial facade in the name of his job and getting The Tasks done, but he will be quite short with people he doesnt like, and there comes a point where he just walks away from something... or ends up conveniently occupied while the target of his ire accidentally expires from the pacemaker replacing their heart suddenly going haywire or something
