teaching, learning (information retention?) is so odd to me. I keep seeing people getting into arguments about things I already know, or discovering things for the first time that I learned about decades ago.
The kneejerk reaction is to think that person's an idiot, how could you not know that? On an analytical level I understand that's an insane thing to say, but my lizard brain seems to be incapable of processing this. You can see this kind of egocentric perception in public discourse all the time.
I'm getting the sense that I'm gradually losing the ability to instinctively empathize with other people as I age, like a bell curve. That might be why old people are so fucking insufferable.
DnD's dominance over the TTRPG sphere is so completely that the majority of TTRPG posts I see on here are people complaining about new players only ever being exposed to it
I get hyperscaling now

My take on Fierdsvain's elite infantry. Pushed their premise a bit further, which is basically "what if the vikings landed in England 600 years late?".
I tried to stay faithful to the Huscarls' original look, but heavily influenced by medieval tournament outfits. In particular, I kept their distinctive, oversized axes. Those things were a menace ingame.
The Berserkers genuinely just look like leathermen to me, so I only kept the Fierdsvain axe and their greatswords. Amusingly, the version with the breastplate is just a single degree of separation away from being a Landsknecht.
I love video game jank, I just saw a Bloodthirster wearing a Kroxigor fursuit (+ a little wolf pelt hat)
I'm intermittently reminded that Sonny and Nightcall have almost a 1:1 identical artstyle. never found out if it was an inspiration, or if they're both cribbing from a completely separate source.
