Your final project will be a well crafted, well printed book containing a series of 10-15 images. These images must be thematically and conceptually consistent. What you shoot is up to you! Each book will contain (i.e.. printed in your book) a 1-2 paragraph artist statement outlining your project.
We will spend the second half of the semester working on these images. New work is expected each week towards your project. We will critique, shoot, reshoot and finely tune these images. Do not tone or edit the images we share in class. You may however tone/retouch the final images to be printed in the book.
It may help you to get a test copy made in case the prints do not turn out as well as you’d like. Either way, timing will be important. The final books will be due the last day of class 5/23. We will view them together as a class, talk about them. I will take them home to grade. You may pick them up next semester in the crib.

-Prepare 1/2 page printed proposal for your final project. Describe in detail what your concept is and what your approach will be. Things to consider: Why this concept? What does it mean to you?
- Collect inspiration images, sketches, poems, videos, and anything that will help show us what direction you want to go in. Share this with the class. Can be on your tumblr, can be a power point. Whatever works for you.
-Be prepared to share with the class. We will talk about it together and share ideas. Be prepared to start work on this assignment as soon as possible.
-In progress images for assignment 4 must be posted to your blog. We will share those images and critique. Final images from this assignment will be due on 4/4.
When we return from Spring Break we will meet for individual critiques. Be prepared to have work in progress to share. This can be sketches, an outline of your plan to shoot, a revised or more detailed concept, etc. We will critique one on one. This is your chance to ask me questions and discuss.
